Image projects

Open Projects in your workspace to organize images in folders. Workspace owners and administrators can create and manage folders. Members can upload images, rename projects and move them; project deletion is available to owners and administrators.

Upload images

Choose New project, then select files or drag them into the upload area. IssueSeal accepts JPEG, PNG, GIF and SVG images, up to 100 MB per file and 20 files per upload. The project takes the first filename as its initial name.

Several files in one upload become pages of a single project version. IssueSeal opens the image viewer after all files have uploaded and passed validation. Choose a thumbnail or use the page arrows to view another image. The zoom buttons adjust its size; Fit to width restores the fitted view.

If an upload fails, check the format and connection, then choose Retry. Choose Cancel upload to stop an active upload. A cancelled or invalid upload does not publish a partial version.

Keep versions

Choose Upload new version in an existing project. The new version keeps the previous files intact. Use the version selector to return to an earlier version. The selected version and page stay in the URL, including after a reload.

Choose Download original to download the selected image without changing its bytes or format.

Discuss a version

Choose Comment, then click a point on an image. Enter a comment and choose Send. A numbered marker stays attached to that image as you zoom. Choose Add a note for a version comment without a marker.

Choose Pen Tool or Arrow, or open Shapes to choose a rectangle, ellipse or line. Drag on the image, write the comment and choose Send. Use Colour and Stroke size to set the drawing style. The drawing and its numbered marker stay on the same image after a reload. Press Escape to cancel an unsent drawing.

The Comments panel lists comments across all images in the selected version. Select a comment to open its discussion and jump to its image. On a phone, choose Show comments to open the panel. Select Back to return to the list.

Each list entry shows how recently the comment was updated and its reply count. General notes have a note icon; comments on images are grouped by image when the version contains multiple images. On a phone, open a discussion to change its priority, resolve it or use its edit menu.

Use Previous comment and Next comment in a discussion to move through the current filtered and sorted results, including comments on other images. The counter shows your position in all matching comments. Navigation is hidden when only one comment matches, and the arrows stop at the first and last comment.

Unsent reply text, formatting, privacy and a selected attachment stay with you when using these arrows. Sending posts the reply to the discussion you are viewing. On a phone, closing the panel and choosing Show comments again keeps the current discussion and its unsent reply. Back clears the unsent reply. Navigation and closing the panel are unavailable while a reply is being sent. If navigation fails, your draft stays in place; choose Retry to try moving again.

Write in Reply, then choose Send. Use the eye switch to mark a comment, note or reply as private. Workspace members can read the discussion; private content is excluded from public-audience reads.

Select text and use Bold, Italic or List item in the comment editor. List item creates a numbered list. In comments and replies, use Ctrl+B or Cmd+B for bold, Ctrl+I or Cmd+I for italic, and Ctrl+Shift+7 or Cmd+Shift+7 for a numbered list. Use Ctrl+Shift+8 or Cmd+Shift+8 for a bulleted list. Formatting stays with the discussion after saving, editing and reloading.

Select Resolve when a comment is handled. It moves to Resolved; choose Reopen to return it to Active. When that removes the current comment from your results, the next matching discussion opens, or the previous one if you were at the end. If none remain, the current discussion stays open until you choose Back. Search comments or open Filter comments to choose tags, priorities, Added by, Date, Unread and With replies. Choose Apply to update the list, or Reset to clear these filters. Closing the panel without applying keeps the previous filters.

An empty result shows No comments, yet. If you expected existing comments, clear the search text and use Reset in the filters to show them again.

Unread shows comments or replies you have not read. New identifies an unread comment from someone else; your own posts are not marked as new for you. Opening a discussion marks it and its existing replies as read for your account. Once the save succeeds, the discussion leaves the Unread results while its detail stays open. When at least two unread discussions remain, the counter shows 0 / remaining and Next comment opens the first remaining match. With one or no unread discussions left, navigation is hidden; choose Back to see the remaining list. If the reading status cannot be saved, choose Retry in the discussion. New replies can make a discussion unread again. Reading a discussion does not mark another member's copy or your Inbox notifications as read.

Selecting several tags includes comments with any selected tag. Selecting several priorities includes any selected priority. When both groups are selected, comments must match a tag and a priority. Not set finds comments without a priority. The badge counts active filter groups, not individual selections.

Added by selects the original comment author from current workspace members. You can select several people, including members who have not commented yet. Each selected filter group must match for a comment to appear.

Date filters when a comment was last updated. Select From and To using the calendar or enter dates as mm/dd/yyyy. Both dates are included in your browser's local time zone. The end date becomes available after choosing a start date; selecting only a start date leaves the date filter inactive. Future dates are unavailable in the calendar. If you move the start date past an existing end date, the range returns no comments until you adjust it or choose Reset.

Use the sort menu to order by page, date or priority. Both priority orders place comments without a priority last.

The comment actions menu lets you edit or delete your own content. Workspace owners and administrators can also manage other members' content.

Choose Copy url in a comment or reply menu to copy a link to that discussion. A reply copies the link to its comment. Opening the link shows the discussion on its image, including resolved and private comments you can access. If the comment was deleted or you cannot access it, IssueSeal shows the comment list. When the project is public, the link also opens for guests; otherwise it works for signed-in workspace members. If another edit was saved first, IssueSeal keeps your draft and asks you to review it before sending again. A failed submission also keeps your text for retry.

Share a project with guests

Choose Share in the image header. Public lets anyone with the link view the project and its public comments; Private limits it to workspace members. Choose Copy to copy the link.

Guests who open the link see a short welcome and can review without an account. Before their first comment they enter a name; the email is optional. Guests can comment and reply, and edit or delete their own comments. They never see private comments or private replies.

Guests can attach one image or PDF to a new comment or reply, and their marker comments include a comment snapshot, just like your team's. Guests can also filter comments by priority, author, tag, date and replies. The author and tag choices only include those shown on public comments.

To stop guests from adding comments on a version, turn off the switch next to Comments and confirm Pause Commenting. Guests then see Paused. Your team can still comment. Turn the switch on again to let guests comment.

Find projects

The project list has three views: Grid, List (a table with status, comment count, people and last update) and Kanban (one column per status: Pending, Changes, Approved - and Approved). Use Status and Type to filter, the sort button to order by last activity or name, and the search box to find projects and folders by name. The view, sort and filters stay in the page address, so a refresh or a shared link keeps them. Each project shows the status of its latest version.

Manage and compare versions

Open the version button next to the project name (for example V2) to switch versions. The newest version is listed first and the current one is checked. Hover a version to rename it, or, as a workspace owner or admin, to delete it. A project always keeps at least one version. Choose Upload new version at the bottom of the menu to add a version.

Choose Compare versions to see two versions on top of each other. Pick a version for each side, then drag the gold divider (or focus it and use the arrow keys) to reveal more of either side. Turn on Comments for a side to show its comment pins. Guests on a public link can switch and compare versions too.

Approve a version

The button at the right of the image header shows the decision for the current version: Pending, Approved, Approved with Changes or Changes Requested. Open it and choose a decision. Approve asks you to confirm with Mark as Approved; the other decisions apply right away. Each version keeps its own decision, and project cards show the decision for the latest version.

Guests on a public link can use the same menu. They enter an email address before their decision is saved.

Update or export several comments

Open the more menu (⋮) above the comment list and choose Bulk Update. Tick the comments you want, or use Select All, then set a priority, resolve them (or reopen them on the Resolved tab), export them, or delete them after confirming.

The same menu exports every comment of the version: Excel Export (a CSV file that opens in Excel), PDF Report Export, and JSON or Markdown for AI agents. Exports include replies and download immediately.

Add tags and set priority

Use the tag button while writing or editing a comment to select workspace tags or create one with a name and color. Tags in the editor are drafts until you choose Send. Closing the editor cancels those changes.

On desktop and tablet, + Tag in a discussion changes its tags immediately. Select a tag again, or choose its remove button, to remove it from that comment. The tag remains available in the workspace. On a phone, edit the comment to change its tags.

The tag picker includes an edit button beside unselected saved tags. Renaming or recoloring a tag updates its use across projects in the same workspace. Names are limited to 50 characters. A duplicate name cannot be saved when renaming; creating a name that already exists toggles that existing tag.

Use the flame menu in the list or discussion to choose P1, P2, P3 or P4. Unset clears the priority. Tags and priority remain after reloading. Workspace owners, administrators and members can update these fields. Editing comment text still requires ownership of the comment or a management role.

View comment snapshots

Sending a new marker or drawing comment saves the image and your new annotation as they appeared at that moment. Earlier annotations are left out. Notes and replies do not create snapshots.

Open the discussion and select the thumbnail under Comment Snapshot to view the saved image. Choose Download File to download its original PNG. Editing the comment, changing its privacy, resolving it, zooming or opening another page keeps the same snapshot.

Use the close button to leave the preview. On phones, opening a snapshot closes the comments panel. After closing the preview, choose Show comments to return to the same discussion.

If generation is interrupted, reopening the discussion resumes verification of the saved image. A recoverable failure shows Retry generation. If a preview or download fails, retry it after the connection recovers.

Attach files

Choose Attach file in a comment or reply to select one image or PDF, up to 20 MB. You can send a file on its own or include text. Remove the draft thumbnail to choose another file. Uploading and validation must finish before the discussion is saved. If sending fails, the text, formatting and selected file stay available for retry.

A saved image shows Attachment; a PDF shows its filename. Select the label to open Image Preview or PDF Preview. Use Download attachment to download the original file. PDFs show a download prompt instead of an embedded reader. If an image cannot be previewed, you can still download it.

Editing preloads the existing file. Keep it while changing the text, remove it and save text, or replace it with another file. A discussion must contain text or a file. Closing an edit without saving preserves the saved attachment. Changing privacy or resolving a comment also preserves its file.

Organize projects

Use the actions menu on a folder or project to rename, move or delete it. A move keeps the project's versions. Deleting a folder also deletes its nested folders, projects and versions; review the confirmation before deleting.

The grid/list buttons change the presentation. Search filters the projects on the current page and the folder's direct children; use the page controls for larger project lists.

Image uploads, version browsing, numbered markers, formatted comments, notes and replies, plus pen, arrow, rectangle, ellipse and line drawings, are available. Image/PDF attachments are available in comments and replies. New marker and drawing comments include snapshots. Guest sharing and approval actions are still being implemented.
